CA Foundation

The CA Foundation has been working with educational institutions for over 25 years. Past activities have included educational programs with Universities, grants to teachers, awards to agricultural educational organizations, and educational grant application activity.

Accomplishments

The CA Foundation has a list of educational accomplishments that include:

• Development of a national skills standard for enology with Napa Community College
• Joint work skills development of horticulture curriculum and apprenticeship with the University of Minnesota
• Creation of a Viticulture skills standard with Missouri State
• Origination of the National High School Knowledge Bowl


Goals

The educational goals of the CA Foundation are to assist educational organizations in applying the institution’s curriculum to practical experience. The philosophy of the foundation is that classroom instruction is only validated through practical “on-the-job” experience. To this end, the CA Foundation has committed to, and supported educational institutions that view practical internships as a component of the learning process. Our slogan is “we put learning to work”.
